Cover Reveal & Contest: Dev Bentham’s Driving Into the Sun

Road trips are intense. That’s why they make good story. My new road trip story, Driving into the Sun, comes out 9/23. I think you’ll fall in love with Dusty and Joe. Didn’t Fiona Jayde do a fantastic job on their cover?

Dev Bentham's Driving into the Sun

Bad choices. We all make them, some more than others. Dusty’s choices have left him unemployed, broke and practically homeless. Despite the major issues he has with his family, his only rational choice is to sell everything and move into his parents’ basement. At thirty. Looking for a ride west, he answers a phone ad. The voice at the other end of the line flows like dark, rich honey. Finally something to look forward to—listening to Joe’s voice all the way from Illinois to Idaho.

Rather than the hip crooner of Dusty’s fantasies, Joe turns out to look more like a panhandler. Is that because Joe dresses down, or are Dusty’s preconceptions about Native Americans clouding his vision? Joe is silent more often than not. He has a complicated past and still has amends to make. But he is ready to move on. Dusty feels trapped. Two damaged men, one small car and two thousand miles—sometimes things need to break down before they can get fixed.

  1. Two, well three actually, come to mind straight away, one is a Sloan Parker story ‘Take Me Home’ and I know its not a strictly on the road as their journey is mostly conducted on a long distance train (sleeper) journey. But they are two long term friends who finally fall in love, or admit they love each other in close quarters of a moving vehicle, so its a ‘road’ trip romance, self realisation and its also a mystery to do with one of the characters grandfathers who left him a journal.

The other book is Astrid Amara’s ‘Love Ahead: Expect Delays’ which is a light seasonal romance road trip. Two men who have only been together for six months, both want the relationship to move on but have various hangups. So Zach, who organises the journey in a old granny car which may or may not last the journey, is in a sense testing to see if this forced closeness will possibly bring out the worst side of Austin, who up to now has been perfect. They have an interesting journey, but I don’t like to give out spoilers just in case…. 🙂

I did have one more, but I cannot remember its title, its about a man who wants needs to get home and he answers an add then somehow falls in love with the driver who may or may not be a serial killer, its a MM romance and I am sure both the the author and title will come back to me soon, hmm?

Finally I love this cover of this book and thank you for a chance to win one of Dev Bentham’s books 😀
