Call for Submissions: It’s About You
Wondering what we want to see next, authors? Well, here you have it. Our call for submissions this summer is all about YOU, our readers! Because authors are readers, too, right?
“Hey, Loosey, what if my favorite trope didn’t make the list? Can I still write it?” I hear you asking. Of course you can! Because, say it with me, it’s about YOU! Just know that a lot of other readers out there are looking for our top 15, and the more YOUs the better.
“Cool. So, how does it work?” you probably want to know. Well, it’s simple.
1. Pick a trope. Preferably one of these 15, but any one that you can find here or here will work too.
2. Write the best, steamiest, 25,000 – 75,000 word Loose Id romance, in any of our regularly accepted subgenres, that you can. Or polish up the one you’re already working on.
3. Send it to email@example.com (or your Loose Id editor if you have one) with a synopsis, the first three chapters, and—pay attention, now, because this part’s a bit different—a cover letter that includes the name of the trope you’re writing and how it works in your story.
Stories are due on or before May 1, 2016. Submissions will be evaluated on a rolling basis with preference given to earlier stories and stories with diverse protagonists. Although the official It’s About You call for submissions closes May 1, we’re always interested in stories built around these themes.
Please forward widely!
