BEHIND THE BOOK: Wulf and the Bounty Hunter
By Gail Koger
How do I come up with my stories? Being psychotic helps. I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for way too long. All those years of wild requests, screwy questions, bizarre behavior and outrageous demands have left me with a permanent twitch and an uncontrollable craving for chocolate. Don’t get me wrong. Working as a 9-1-1 dispatcher can be very rewarding. BUT – some days I felt like the entire world was nuts. I mean, c’mon, who in their right mind calls 9-1-1 for the winning lottery numbers? To keep from hitting myself repeatedly in the head with my phone, I took up writing.
Now I have all these weird critters and hunky aliens running amok in my head. Wulf, a Coletti warlord, was a persistence bugger. Nag. Nag. Nag. Write my story. Write my story. The thing about Coletti warlords is; they’re the ultimate predator with a taste for blood, a passion for battle and the need to control everything in their lives. I ignored Wulf until he showed me his man parts. That got my attention. It was long, snakelike and had tentacles. Whoa! According to Yakira, his long sought mate, the tentacles were better than sex toys.
I decided I had to write their story. Yakira’s BFF, Ziyad, looks like a creature some mad scientist has dreamed up. She’s half Askole and half Rodan. She has the face of a T-Rex, tentacles and the black armor-plated skin of an Askole. Who wouldn’t want to write about a friendship like no other and Wulf’s promise to Yakira:
“Your love is my anchor. Your trust my strength. You make my life complete. I will give you all my love until eternity ends.”
Warning! Warning! Hysterical laughter will occur while reading Wulf and the Bounty Hunter.
